is setup for the 20th of this month over in TOG

I up the layer height still didn't work in the end I slow the print right down 30% tried to clean the head as the layer finish the quickely move the bed back up

BIG Day Out

Was out with TOG on Saturday demoing the printer and promoting Dublin Mini Maker Faire
which is on Saturday the 27th of July from 10-6 at Trinity College
and with everyday out demoing the printer brought lots of attention

after being feel like a crazy person being spun around on a chair this is the outcome.

after fixing up a few holes and abit of cleanup here the end result.

Tried out Faberdasherys new Space Marine Blue what can I say sept its a very nice colour heres a print of batman I did last night

Its abit more greenish than what the pic shows, wished I printed at a better res. still its a nice print and its on my desk.

also used the transparent colours from Faberdasherys and printed Joris Week 1 Cup 

turnout very nice

R.I.B Rest In Bits 1st useful thing I printed

The time has come and the handle on my rice cooker has broke...again this little print has garn through alot of hot cooking temps and a dishwasher over the last year and it finally gave up the ghost.. poor thing.

anyway time to print a new one :)

friction welding

I saw this the other day (Fran you rock) and was wondering weather this would work with PLA, so I gave it ago



here's what happened.

so the end result can you friction weld PLA answer?? YES but it mucks the printup

here is a few pics to show how bad it is.

Out with the old (busted) in with new (printed)

Im fixing up and old Thing-O-Matic at the moment.

the whole thing is made out of acrylic and have to say tho it looks nice its not a good martial to use alot of part a cracked or broke completely as you see here i measured up and recreated a new part to replace the old and its fits even better than old parts :)
